のカルペディエム(carpe diem)とは「今日という花を摘め」というラテン語の名文句です。ホラティウス『カルミナ』第1巻11歌が元ネタです。

などなど。実際ラテン語の詩って語順がかなりごちゃごちゃしているため、正確な訳を入れるのは無理そう。ラテン語は中世のやつしか殆ど触れたことがないので、あんま変なことは言えないんですけど、scire nefasの訳出とか英訳でも難しそう(小並感)
特にcarpe<carpoの訳出だけどseize(掴む)となっています。「今日を掴め」っていいですよね。勿論carpoには花や果物を掴むという意味合いが込められているから「今日という花を摘め」っていうのもかっこいいですよね。

簡潔で綺麗な訳出だなあって思います。 quam minimum credula posteroのcredula(信用するような)の部分をきっぱり分からないと訳出されてたり全体的に日本語として変になるところは割り切って簡単な語にするのが詩ではリズム的に大事なのかな。
アルストロメリアのbloomy!だけど「風」というモチーフはこの詩ともかぶるかな。ユピテルがもたらした云々のところとか。でも元ネタのホラティウスの詩では季節は冬、bloomy!とは季節感が若干違うんですよね。冬を乗り越えた先のbloomyとして考えると原詩とbloomy!とかなり重なるのでは?とも感じます。
他のアルストロメリアの曲もこのような言葉遊びや西洋文学由来の元ネタが存在するので調べたりすると面白いですよね。
